Oak Ridge Reservation Land Use Planning Focus Group

The Department of Energy has established a "focus group" to provide input to the Oak Ridge Reservation land use planning process. AFORR is represented on this focus group by our president, Dev Joslin. The complete list of participants includes personnel from federal, state, and local government agencies with resource management responsibilities and/or expertise relevant to the planning process, representatives from other groups interested in particular values of the ORR, and a cadre of local business development boosters. Additional information about the focus group and planning process is on the website DOE has established for this planning process.

Meetings of this group are open to the public. Meetings are held in the Multipurpose Room at the City of Oak Ridge Central Services Center at 100 Woodbury Lane (behind K-Mart) in Oak Ridge. Meetings begin at 10 a.m. and will last until 3 p.m.

Upcoming meeting dates:

DOE's original announcement of the meeting schedule said:

The Land Use Planning Focus Group will perform an extensive review of the near- and long-term land requirements of DOE's science, environmental management, and national security missions at the Oak Ridge facilities. Through this process, DOE will have a better understanding of the current and future land parcel needs of the local communities, as well as other regional and State objectives.
